VoIP setup 7402VGP & 7402VL
A firmware upgrade maybe required. This allows for easy configuration for Australian SIP service providers (such as aaNet/Engin). It is also recommended you consult your IT specialist before performing firmware upgrades to ensure your modem will be compatible & remain operational. Here is the firmware link: 7402VGP: http://billion.com.au/support/bipac7402vgp.php 7042VL: http://billion.com.au/support/bipac7402vl.php
You will need to reset the modem to factory defaults after updating its firmware, this means you will also need to re-enter your username and password into the Quick Start Section of the Modem Your Username is: your 10-digit telephone@aanet.com.au Your Password is: pt followed by the last 4 digits of your telephone number Note: this is case and space sensitive (all lowercase and no spaces)
Then go to the VOIP section (In the Configuration Menu) on the router and click on the Wizard Setup
The ONLY settings you should enter or change are: Sip service provider: Select Engin from this list VOIP number as given from Netcall: <insert your VOIP number> authentication username: <insert your VOIP number> (repeat the VOIP number number) authentication password: <insert your system password>
Note: this is case and space sensitive (use provided upper and lowercase for password and ensure you enter no spaces in any fields) Once you have entered the details above click on the Apply button and you will be taken to the General Settings page. Note: now you will need to save settings to flash and restart the device now. Once you have done so return to the General Settings for VOIP found under Configuration. Next to Setting for Phone Port 1 click on Sync Now and this will register the phone port.
To verify that the VOIP service has registered click on the Phone Port tab and look at phone port one and it should indicate 'Registered' as shown below
Congratulations. You are now active for VOIP.
